Plush (Velvet)

Frieze (Shag)

Frieze carpet has tightly twisted, curled fibers that create a casual, relaxed look. The high twist count (up to 7-8 per inch) makes it durable and resistant to matting. Berber (Loop Pile)

Patterned

How to Choose the Right Carpet

Consider your lifestyle

If you have kids, pets, or high foot traffic, look for carpet with built-in stain resistance and a higher twist count. Frieze and textured styles hold up better in active households than plush.

Understand density and twist

Density measures how closely fibers are packed together. A higher density number (3,000 to 5,000+) means a more durable carpet that resists matting and crushing. Twist count measures how tightly each fiber is wound. Higher twist counts (4 to 8 per inch) mean the carpet holds its shape longer and resists fraying.

Choose the right fiber

• Nylon — The most durable carpet fiber. Best for high-traffic areas and homes with pets. Resists wear, crushing, and staining with proper treatment.
• Polyester (PET) — Naturally stain-resistant and available in vibrant colors. Best for bedrooms and low-to-moderate traffic areas.
• Triexta — A newer fiber with built-in stain and soil protection at the molecular level. A strong choice for families who want durability without chemical treatments.
• Wool — A natural, premium fiber with a soft hand and excellent durability. Higher price point, best for formal spaces and homeowners who prefer natural materials.

Do not skip the padding
