Do you have pets? Here is why you should consider carpet flooring
There are many reasons you should consider carpeting if you have a pet. Mills can create versions with extra stain resistance and durability with modern technology.
Many rugs found right here in our inventory have pet-friendly warranties. The goal, however, should be to choose the right kind of carpets when you have pets.
Pay attention to fiber
Fiber is the material from which the yarns are made. However, many find a nylon or polyester floor covering the more practical choice.
There are five most commonly chosen fibers. Do a little research and get to know the pros and cons of each.
Nylon is known for superior strength.
Polyester is known for superior stain resistance.
Triexta is strong and has permanent stain resistance built onto the fiber.
Olefin (polypropylene). This budget-friendly fiber is durable and stain-resistant.
Wool is natural, durable, and naturally soil-resistant. In addition, it is absorbent, so spills need to be wiped immediately.
Consider carpet pile
You’ll see a lot of styles in the carpet store. Consider what works best for your needs.
Generally, a high pile rug like the shag requires extra care in keeping it clean. On the other hand, a low pile rug is more durable and easier to maintain; these fashionable rugs are often seen in offices.
As a bonus, carpets have good traction. Finally, senior, arthritic pets will be incredibly grateful for a warm, soft place to rest.
